Students of the Faculty of Social Sciences organized an open lecture with Ms. Hava Shala on the topic “Blood Feud Reconciliation – when a people chose forgiveness,” with the aim of reflecting and discussing the “collective memory of the Albanian people.”

In the opening speech, the chair of the governing council, Ms. Majlinda Ramadani Haxhikadrija, emphasized the role of the blood feud reconciliation initiative during a difficult time full of challenges, highlighting the contribution of various actors in reconciling Albanians. On the other hand, the dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Prof. Ass. Dr. Ferdi Kamberi, stressed that the role of Ms. Hava Shala in blood feud reconciliation represents a powerful social and humanitarian act. She was not simply a mediator, but a bridge connecting divided families, promoting reconciliation, understanding, and peace.

Ms. Hava Shala spoke about the difficult mission she had at that time, her collaboration with Prof. Anton Çeta, the regions where most reconciliations took place, communication between families, customary law, the “Oda” as a social institution, as well as the challenges and difficulties. She underlined that willpower, dedication, and perseverance enabled her and her colleagues to achieve their goals toward reconciliation between divided families.

At the end of the event, Ms. Hava Shala was awarded a certificate of appreciation as a sign of recognition for her valuable contribution to blood feud reconciliation and the promotion of peace and unity in Albanian society. The students of the Faculty of Social Sciences also presented her with a painting of special significance.

The activity was moderated by student Elda Gacaferri, and an important contribution to the organization was also made by the students: Amrbona Lajqi, Era Sylmetaj, Blerina Rrustemi, Rona Rudi, Altrina Halilaj, and Edon Hajdari.
