Students of The Faculty of Social Sciences organized an open Lecture with Mirlinda Sada from NGO- Medica Gjakova

On the occasion of the International Day of Social Work, students of the Faculty of Social Sciences, at the University “Fehmi Agani” Gjakova have taken the initiative to organize an open lecture and discussion with Ms. Mirlinda Sada from NGO- Medica Gjakova.

In his opening speech, the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences Prof. Ass. Dr. Fredi Kamberi underlined the role and importance of the mission of social workers, their professional journey, as well as the challenges they face. The Vice-Rector for Academic Development and Quality Improvement, and the Vice-Rector for Scientific Research and Studies, Prof. Ass. Dr. Kaltrina Kusari emphasized that this year's theme for the International Day of Social Work has to do with “Social Intergenerational Solidarity for Sustainable well- being”, which highlights the importance of care and respect between generations to build strong societies and support the social environment in which we live.

Meanwhile, for the opening lecture with students, Ms. Mirlinda Sada from NGO- Medical Gjakova spoke, focusing on the role of the social profile on the International Day of  Social Work, the activities that this organization has in relation to clients in providing psychosocial services, the expansion of the organization's activities in other municipalities, the relationship with the University "Fehmi Agani" Gjakova, especially in the development of social work practice, as well as the future orientations of the NGO - Medica Gjakova.

On the other hand, the students of the Faculty of Social Sciences welcomed the lecture, and during the conversation asked a lot of questions related to the topic at hand. At the end, the students also distributed the brochure with the profile of social workers, which they had prepared in particular for the International Social Work Day.
