The University "Fehmi Agani" in Gjakova signs a Cooperation Agreement with Uludağ University in Bursa, Turkey
In an official ceremony, the University ‘’Fehmi Agani’’ in Gjakova (UFAGJ) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), with the Uludag University of Bursa in Turkey, with the purpose of deepening the inter-institutional cooperation in the academic, research and international mobility fields.
The agreement was signed by the UFAGJ Rector, Prof. Ass. Dr. Drilon Bunjaku, and the Rector of the University Uludag, Prof.Dr. Yilmaz. Present in this meeting was the Head of the Rumelisiad Association, Mr. Murat Evke, and members of the board of this well-known association of businessmen with origin from the Balkan region, who enabled the establishment of the cooperation bridge between the very prestigious Uludag University and University ‘’Fehmi Agani’’ in Gjakova. In regards to the activity, who aimed the widening of the international cooperation of UFAGJ, present were also the two vice-rectors of UFAGJ: the vice-rector for International Cooperation, Prof. Ass. Dr. Nazli Tyfekçi, and Vice-rector for Teaching and Student Affairs, Prof. Ass. Dr. Dafinë Kaçuri, as well as representatives of the high management, coordinator and professional high school directors, and officers for international cooperation of the Uludag University.
The Rector Prof. Dr. Yilmaz emphasized the importance of this cooperation for the Uludag University, qualifying it as a significant step towards the strengthening of internationalization, academic cooperation and student and staff exchange. He also highlighted that Uludag University, with more than 70.000 students (from which only 10% are international) is a leader in research and innovation, in particular in the engineering disciplines.
On the other hand, Rector Prof. Ass. Dr. Drilon Bunjaku spoke about the transformation that is taking place at UFAGj, especially in terms of the university's "third mission", emphasizing that higher education institutions are taking an increasingly active role in the economic and social impact of the community. He thanked Uludağ University and the Rumelisiad Association for their support and expressed UFAGJ's commitment to making this cooperation successful and concrete.
During the meeting, the parties discusses for the action plan which will enable the effective implementation of the agreement, and emphasized the importance of the long-term mobility of the students and the academic staff, as well as the mutual projects in scientific research.
The UFAGJ Management remains committed in strengthening the institutional and academic development, professional growth, considering this agreement as an important opportunity for quality increase and the impact of the University in the international level.
