Within the framework of implementing the Strategic Plan 2023–2026, the Faculty of Social Sciences of "Fehmi Agani" University in Gjakova, in collaboration with the University of IOWA in the United States of America, has organized the professional training "Dementia Friends Session" for academic staff. The training was conducted by Prof. Megan Zimmerman and was made possible thanks to the support of Prof. William R. Henninger from the University of IOWA.

During this virtual training cycle, participants had the opportunity to become closely acquainted with issues related to dementia, risk factors, types of dementia, the importance of the gerontological approach, as well as the essential role of family, community, and social work professionals in supporting people with dementia.

This activity marks an important step toward the professional development of academic staff, in accordance with international standards and recommendations of the Kosovo Accreditation Agency for strengthening institutional and academic capacities.
