On the occasion of International Social Work Day, the Faculty of Social Sciences, in collaboration with the NGO “Concordia,” organized an informational session with students — an initiative that highlights the role and importance of social work in society.

The opening remarks by the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences emphasized the crucial role of social work, advocacy for human rights, and the mission that students carry in providing social services to the community. 

University professor Prof. Dr. Behxhet Gaxhiqi welcomed this initiative, underlining that such informational sessions serve as a bridge between academic staff and field experts, enabling students to gain deeper knowledge within the context of social work.

Social workers from the NGO “Concordia”: Argenita Mijalica, Dorentina Berisha, Krenar Mustafa, Eros Bakija, and Drenusha Kuqi spoke about the organization’s mission in the municipalities of Prizren and Gjakova, cooperation with Centers for Social Work, coordination and case referral, as well as opportunities for professional internships for the Faculty’s students.

This cooperation is the result of agreements signed with public institutions and non-governmental organizations, as well as a recommendation from the AKA.
