Students of the Faculty of Social Sciences Successfully Complete Professional Practice in Partner Institutions
Gjakova, March 18, 2026
The professional practice of first- and third-year students of the Faculty of Social Sciences is being carried out successfully in partner public institutions and non-governmental organizations. Students are engaged in social, educational, and healthcare institutions, where they are applying the knowledge gained during their studies and developing their professional competencies through direct field experience.
This practice is conducted within the framework of the study program “Social Care and Welfare” at the Faculty of Social Sciences, which provides for the completion of practical training over two semesters, each lasting 15 weeks. This structure enables an effective integration of theoretical preparation with practical experience in the field of social work.
The practice is implemented in cooperation with a wide range of institutional partners and non-governmental organizations, including: Centers for Social Work, Mental Health Centers, Medica Gjakova, the Red Cross, Handikos Gjakova, Associations of the Blind, Concordia Social Projects, Bethany Christian Services, as well as preschool, primary, and secondary educational institutions.
Additionally, the faculty collaborates with institutions and organizations in the municipalities of Gjakova, Peja, Deçan, Klinë, and Istog, supporting the academic and professional development of students. The internship process is coordinated and supervised by PhD Assistant Granit Kelmendi, while lectures and teaching for this course are delivered by Associate Professor Dr. Sherif Sejdiu.
The Faculty of Social Sciences expresses its special gratitude to the host institutions and professional mentors for their support and contribution to the professional preparation of students.
